Morning prayer · 30 August

My soul breathes in you

A small fish swimming happily inside a clear bubble of water that floats freely in open air, utterly at home where most fish couldn't survive, showing the soul breathing only in God.

Your fish can breathe only where your waters roll. Your birds can fly only within your sea of air. My soul can breathe only in your endless soul. I breathe, I think, I love, I live only by you. Oh, breathe in me, think in me, Love, live in me. My life isn’t worthy until it’s all divine, until you see in me only what is yours. Amen.

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
