Terms of Use
Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the Mutter app and trymutter.com. By using Mutter you agree to them. They're written to be read, so they're short.
Mutter is free
Mutter costs nothing. There are no purchases, subscriptions, donations or ads. We may change, add or remove features over time, and we can't promise the app will always be available or work without interruption.
Your account
- You sign in with Apple, Google or email. Keep that account secure; you're responsible for what happens in your Mutter account.
- You must be at least 13 to use Mutter.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. How that works is in the privacy policy.
What you add is yours
The verses, prayers, notes and prayer points you add stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run Mutter for you: keeping them in sync, making their drawings, reading them aloud and, if you choose, sharing them with a group. We don't sell them or use them for ads.
Groups
When you share a prayer with a group, its members can see it. Please be kind. Don't post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or anyone else's private information without their permission. Group leaders can remove prayers and members, and we can remove content or accounts that break these terms.
Drawings
Mutter makes a drawing for the things you save. Drawings are made automatically and can sometimes miss the mark; if one fails, Mutter uses one of its own pictures instead. You can use the drawings made for you however you like, including sharing them.
App Guard
App Guard works through Apple's Screen Time, so what it can do depends on Apple and your iPhone's settings. It's a gentle prompt, not a lock: it's not a parental control or a guarantee that an app stays closed.
Not professional advice
Mutter offers Scripture, prayers and readings for encouragement. It isn't a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal or financial help. If you're struggling or in danger, please contact a professional or your local emergency services.
Content in Mutter
The Bible text (Berean Standard Bible), devotionals, articles, hymns and historic prayers in Mutter are in the public domain. Mutter's design, drawings and our own writing belong to us; please don't copy the app or present our work as yours.
Using Mutter fairly
Don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or misuse Mutter or its servers, or access other people's data.
The legal part
Mutter is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you downloaded Mutter from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply. Apple isn't responsible for Mutter or its support.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections your own country gives you.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be mentioned in the app.
