Privacy Policy

Mutter helps you keep the verses and prayers God has put on your heart close through the day. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and we never show you ads.

What we store

• Your account: your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us), and the first name or nickname and avatar you choose.
• What you save: your verses, prayers, notes and collections, the drawings Mutter makes for them, and simple counts such as how many times you've said Amen. These are kept so they come with you to a new phone.
• Your reading: the Bible verses and words you highlight, the readings you save for later, and which reading a prayer or note came from.
• Groups: which groups you're in, the group prayers set there, and whether you've added them. Other members see your name and avatar, and totals like "8 praying". They never see your personal verses and prayers.
• How you use Mutter: a few simple facts, so we can see whether setting up and App Guard are working: whether you finished setting up, whether App Guard is on (yes or no), how many times you've said Amen on App Guard's pause screen, and which version of Mutter you have. Never which apps you guard or how you use them.
• Notifications: a device token so we can send group prayer notifications, if you allow them.

What stays on your phone

• App Guard uses Apple's Screen Time. We never see which apps you choose or how you use them.
• Screenshots you import are read on your phone. Only the words you choose to save are stored.
• Voice input: when you tap the mic to speak instead of typing, your phone turns what you say into text itself. Mutter listens only while the mic is on, and your voice is never recorded, kept or sent anywhere. When you say several prayer points at once, they're split into a list on your phone too. Only the words you choose to save are stored, like anything you type.

Drawings and voices

To draw an item or read it aloud, we send only the words involved to our AI providers. We never send your name or email. They create the drawing or the recording and don't keep it for their own use. Recordings of the same words are shared between people, so nothing personal is attached to them.

Who we share with

Only the services that run Mutter: Supabase (our database and storage, in the EU/UK); fal.ai and the models it hosts for drawings and voices (ElevenLabs); Apple (sign-in and notifications); and Google, if you sign in with Google. We don't sell or rent data, and the app doesn't use advertising or tracking.

Payments

Mutter is free. There are no purchases, subscriptions or ads, so we never handle any payment details.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in Mutter: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, library, drawings, highlights, saved readings and group memberships, and (if you signed in with Apple) tells Apple to revoke Mutter's access. Groups you run are handed to another member.

This website

This website (trymutter.com, not the app) uses Google Analytics, but only if you say yes to cookies. If you say no, or don't choose, it isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

If you say yes, Google Analytics tells us which pages were visited, your rough location (country or city), your device and browser, and how you arrived (for example, a search or a link). Your IP address is anonymised. We use this only to see how people find and use the site. Nothing is used for ads, and we never sell it.

Google processes this data for us. You can read Google's privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

Children

Mutter is not directed at children under 13.
