Morning prayer · 14 December
More aware of you

Dear, dear Lord Jesus, what would we do without you? We’re still far from home; we haven’t yet come into the land of light and glory. It’s on the other side of the river, in the land where you live, and until we get there, be with us. We’ve said to ourselves, “How will we live without our Lord?” And then we’ve said to you, “If your Spirit doesn’t go with us, don’t send us on from here.” Be to us today like the pillar of cloud and fire that covered the whole camp of Israel. May we live in God, and move in God. May we be more aware of God’s presence than of anything else. Amen.
“If Your Presence does not go with us,” Moses replied, “do not lead us up from here.
