Morning prayer · 28 December
Lord of our hearts

Lord, we know you rule over us. Our life and death, soul and body, all belong to you. Help us gladly give them all to your service. Let us walk with you as simply as children, steady in prayer, always looking to you, so that in all we do or don’t do, we follow even the smallest hint of your will. Be Lord of our hearts and spirits, so our whole inner self is under your rule, and your life of love and goodness fills our thoughts and energy, to the depths of our souls. Come into our hearts, Lord and King, and live and rule there forever. Faithful Lord, teach us to trust you in life and death, and to take you as our everything. Amen.
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
