Morning offering of praise

A rooster crowing atop a modest rooftop as the sun's first rays break over the horizon, celebrating safety through the night and a new morning of praise.

Almighty and everlasting God, in you we live and move and exist. We need you, and we bring you our humble praise for keeping us safe from the start of our lives until today, and especially for keeping us from danger through the night. For all this mercy we thank you and praise your glorious name. Please accept this morning offering of praise and thanks, for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lay down in the grave and rose again for us. Amen.

‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’
