Young eyes and heart

An old gnarled tree with one fresh green sapling branch sprouting from its trunk, reaching toward the light.

Lord, the things I could have done when I was young and strong, if I’d been true to the truth from the start, please let me do them now that I’m older, with clearer sight and a humbler heart, even without a young mind. In your gentleness and compassion, lead me, your old soul, back along the path of pain, round to my best: young eyes, young heart, young mind. Amen.

who satisfies you with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:5 (BSB)
