Loose the chain

A small animal sits bound by a single loose loop of rope around its middle, and one link of the chain has just sprung open on its own, falling away to the ground.

God, it’s your nature always to have mercy and to forgive. Please hear what we humbly ask. Even though we’re tied up and bound by the chain of our sins, let your great and tender mercy set us free. We ask this for the sake of Jesus Christ, who stands between us and you and speaks up for us. Amen.

Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance—who does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in loving devotion?

Micah 7:18 (BSB)
