Comfort of the humble

A small reed bent nearly flat by wind is held upright by a simple wooden stake tied loosely beside it, showing a weak thing kept standing by something steadier than itself.

God, you comfort the humble, and you’re the strength of those who trust you. Be merciful to us as we ask for your help. Our human weakness is so quick to fall on its own. Hold us up always, so that we stand upright. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

Psalm 145:14 (BSB)
