Joy in the Holy Spirit

A small seedling growing steadily inside a glass jar, weather drawn on both sides of the glass — bright sun on one half, rain clouds on the other — yet the plant inside stays the same cheerful green throughout, showing steady joy regardless of circumstance.

Lord, make our faith and love for you grow. Fill our hearts with everything good, and in your great mercy keep us that way. Give us real eagerness in prayer, true humility when things go well, complete patience when things go badly, and constant joy in the Holy Spirit. For the sake of Jesus Christ, our only Lord, who saves us. Amen.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer.
