Morning prayer · 15 March

Less of ourselves

A small tool (a simple hand chisel) lying open on a workbench, waiting to be picked up and used, suggesting a life offered as an instrument.

Our God, we don’t want to hide our everyday failings from you. Please forgive us, for Jesus’ sake. Our Father, never let us go an hour without your Holy Spirit living in us. Every day, let us be less aware of ourselves and more aware of you. Make us tools in your hand to move your Kingdom forward and bring all Christians together, for the sake of the one who loved us and died for us, Jesus Christ. Amen.

He must increase; I must decrease.

John 3:30 (BSB)
