Not only live but grow

Father, you’re the never-ending source of life. Thank you for breathing your own breath of life into me, so that I became a living soul. I really want not only to live but to grow: to grow in grace and in knowing Jesus Christ, who saves me. Help me grow in patience and inner strength, in humility and eagerness, and in a mind set on heaven. You know I’m hungry and thirsty to be right with you, so make me whatever you’d love to see me be. By the gentle work of your Spirit, draw on my soul every line you’d be glad to look at, and could call your own likeness. I ask this, and hope for it, through Jesus, from whose fullness we’ve all received. Amen.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
