Ready to stay or go

A weathervane-like door with two small signs on it reading 'in' and 'out', swinging gently open on its hinge, equally ready to move either way.

My God, send your light and your truth, so that I can always live close to you. Let me feel your love, so that it’s as if I’m already in heaven, and I do all my work the way the angels do theirs. Let me be ready for every task: ready to go out or come in, to stay or to leave, just as you decide. Lord, let me have no will of my own. Don’t let me think my real happiness depends even a little on anything that happens to me outwardly. Let it rest completely on living in line with your will. Amen.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” And I said: “Here am I. Send me!”

Isaiah 6:8 (BSB)
