Bought at a great price

A small open treasure chest sits empty on a table, its coins and jewels already poured out and gone, while a single key still rests inside, waiting to be taken up by a tiny hand reaching in from the frame edge, with the words “bought at a great price” lettered by hand.

Lord, you’ve healed our wounds by the wounds of your only Son. So what should we do now that we’ve been bought at such a great price? How can we serve a Lord like you, who promises us freedom and offers us an inheritance? Lord, work in us whatever pleases you. So that we may have you, take hold of us. We won’t turn back from you. You’ll give us life, and we’ll call on your name. Amen.

you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
