Morning prayer · 9 April
The revenge of love

Lord, I pray for anyone who is against me. You are the true Light: light up their darkness. You are perfect Truth: put right what they’ve got wrong. You are true Life: bring their souls to life. So I ask you, Lord, to give them love for you and for others, in the measure you want, so that they don’t stand before you guilty of wronging a brother. This is the revenge the hidden part of my heart wants to take on my enemies, who serve you alongside me and sin just like me. This is the punishment my soul prays for them: that we may love you and one another, as you want and as is good for us, and that, for the good of all, we may obey our one Lord together, in harmony, led by love. Amen.
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
