Morning prayer · 8 April

Heal our divisions

Two broken halves of the same teacup mended at the crack with a thin gold-colored line, now whole and sitting steady on a saucer.

God our Father, source of all that is divine, good beyond all goodness, beautiful beyond all beauty: in you there is calm, peace and harmony. Heal the quarrels that divide us from one another, and bring us back into a oneness of love that’s a little like your own nature. You’re above all things. Make us one, with one good mind, so that, held together by love and the ties of affection, we may be one in spirit, within ourselves and with each other. We ask this through your peace, which makes all things peaceful, and through the grace, mercy and tenderness of your only Son. Amen.

that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

John 17:21 (BSB)
