Where true joys are found

A spinning weathervane rooster on a rooftop, buffeted by wind arrows from every direction, but with a single steady nail drawn through its centre pinning it firmly to one fixed point.

Almighty God, you alone can bring order to the unruly wills and desires of sinful people. Help your people love what you command and want what you promise, so that among all the many changes of this world, our hearts may be firmly set where true joys are found. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:34 (BSB)
