God with me rising

A sundial standing in a garden, its shadow marking both dawn and dusk hours at once as a small bird rests on the gnomon, showing one steady presence through the whole turning day, with the words “each day and night” lettered by hand.

God with me lying down, God with me rising up, God with me in every ray of light. I have no ray of joy without you, not one ray without you. Christ with me sleeping, Christ with me waking, Christ with me watching, every day and night, each day and night. God with me protecting, the Lord with me directing, the Spirit with me strengthening, forever and ever, ever and evermore. Amen. King of all kings, amen.

I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
