Make our way plain

Lord, keep us from sin. Help us rule our own spirits, so we don’t lose our temper today when we’re provoked, or speak carelessly. Give us grace to live together in peace and holy love, so you’ll pour your blessing on us, life that lasts forever. Make us honest in all we do and always alert to sin, knowing your eye is always on us. Arm us against every temptation, keep us honest, and keep us on the path of duty. Let us live in awe of you every day, all day long. Whenever we’re unsure, make our way plain. Give us the wisdom that always helps us choose well, and let honesty and goodness keep us safe, because we’re waiting on you. Amen.
He who is slow to anger is better than a warrior, and he who controls his temper is greater than one who captures a city.
