Morning prayer · 17 December

Boast in your mercy

A small reed standing stiff and proud in the wind, already cracked at the stem, while beside it a humble patch of moss lies low and unbroken.

Lord, we pray, help us to trust you with all our heart. We know you always oppose the proud, who rely on their own strength, and you never abandon those whose only boast is your mercy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
