Safely to this day

A single narrow path leads away from a doorstep at dawn, and an unseen hand gently guides a small cart along it, keeping its wheels from the ditches on either side.

Lord, our Father in heaven, almighty and everlasting God, you’ve brought us safely to the start of this day. Defend us through it with your mighty power. Keep us from falling into any sin today, or running into any kind of danger. Let everything we do be guided by you, so that we always do what is right in your eyes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul.
