From glory to glory

A caterpillar mid-transformation inside a translucent chrysalis on a branch, with one wing of a butterfly already visible pushing through, showing a steady unseen hand of change not yet finished.

Lord, I know I must change if I’m to see your face. You never change; hold me up with that grace through this great, solemn, happy change. My only steadiness here is to keep on changing. Day by day, shape me to be like you, changed from glory to glory, always looking to you and leaning on your arm. I know I must go through trial, temptation and struggle to come to you. I don’t know what lies ahead, but I know this. I also know that without you, I’ll change for the worse, not the better. Rich or poor, healthy or sick, with friends or without, it will all turn to harm if you aren’t holding me up. But all will turn to good if I have Jesus with me, the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
