Morning prayer · 21 December

Nothing half done

A carpenter's workbench holds one finished wooden joint fitted perfectly flush, while an unfinished half-joined piece sits beside it under a single beam of morning light.

Gracious God, please remember us in our work today. If it’s your will, give us a good, successful day. May all our work be well done. May we leave nothing half done. May we bring you glory by honest, good work. We ask for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who finished his work for us. Amen.

I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.

John 17:4 (BSB)
