When our cup overflows

A cup overflowing on a table, its spill directed into a second empty cup beside it instead of pooling away.

Lord, pour a spirit of unselfishness into our hearts, so that when our cup overflows, we’ll look for ways to share our happiness with others. God of love, you make your sun rise on bad people and good, and send rain on those who do right and those who don’t. Help us become more and more your true children, by taking into our souls more of your own kindness, the kind that never grudges and never tires. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
