Morning prayer · 18 January
Haven for the shipwrecked

Come, Holy Spirit, kind Comforter of the sad soul in its need, and helper in trouble. Come, you who wash away sin and heal wounds. Come, strength of the weak, who lifts up those who are falling. Come, teacher of the humble, who brings down the proud. Come, loving Father of children who have no father, gentle defender of widows. Come, hope of the poor, who restores those who are failing. Come, star of those at sea, safe haven for the shipwrecked. Come, glory of all the living and only rescue of the dying. Come, Holy Spirit, have pity on me and make me ready for you. In your great compassion, let my smallness be welcome to your greatness, and my weakness to your strength. Amen.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—
