Morning prayer · 12 July

Open my spirit’s eyes

A pair of shuttered window eyes on a small house are being gently unlatched from inside by a tiny hand, morning light just beginning to show through the crack.

Lord, help me feel that you’re really here, every moment. I won’t ask you to be with me, because you’re always with me. But show yourself to me in a way the world doesn’t see. Open the eyes of my spirit. Make my heart pure, so I can see God. Help me keep the sweet thought of you in front of me all the time, on purpose and with care. Let my mind and my thoughts rest on you. Amen.

Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”

John 14:21 (BSB)
