Have mercy on all

Many small broken cups of different shapes stand scattered on a plain table, each cracked in a different place, while a single pitcher pours one continuous stream of water filling every one of them at once.

Lord, you take no pleasure in hurting anyone. Look down from heaven at the many people around us whose lives are full of misery, and have mercy on us. Have mercy on everyone who doesn’t understand, and teach them; on every mind that’s been fooled, and open their eyes. Have mercy on every broken heart, and heal it; on everyone struggling with temptation, and rescue them; on everyone who has fallen away from you, and lift them up; on everyone who stands with you, and make them strong. Jesus, you poured out your blood to save us. Pour out your Holy Spirit on everyone, and heal them, because you are full of pity. Amen.

For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.
