The storms pass over

A sturdy stone cottage weathering a storm outside while its windows glow warm and steady, the wind bending nearby grass flat but the house unmoved.

Almighty God, you’re the shelter of everyone in distress. In every trouble of this life, help us run to what we know of your loving kindness and tender mercy. Sheltering there, may the storms of life pass over us without shaking the peace of God within us. Whatever this life brings us, don’t let it ever take from us the full faith that you’re our Father. Give us your light, so that we may have life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of distress; He cares for those who trust in Him.
