Treasure in heaven

A simple wooden chest sits open with ordinary coins spilling out one side, while out the other side a single beam of light lifts a few coins upward into the sky, treasure quietly changing hands from earth to heaven.

Lord, we know that without you we can do nothing. Be our wisdom, our goodness, our holiness and our rescue. Let us receive from your fullness one gift after another. Make us rich in the endless riches of Christ, so our treasure is in heaven and we walk by faith, not by sight. Help us live above the world’s small worries and empty things that never satisfy. Keep us always trying to please you, pulling up every last root of wrong in us, and growing in every Christian virtue. Let us carry the likeness of our Father in heaven, and do good in our time as God wants, until at last you take us to yourself, to the joys at your right hand forever. Amen.

It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
