Morning prayer · 28 March

The learner’s ear

A small ear shape drawn simply, tilted toward a single word floating above it like a note waiting to be caught, with the words “woken morning by morning” lettered by hand.

Lord, teach me that only when your word is taken up into my life can my words be taken into your heart. If your word is a living power in me, it will be a living power with you, and what your mouth has spoken, your hand will do. Give me the open ear of someone learning, woken morning by morning to hear the Father’s voice. Just as you only spoke what you heard, let my speaking be the echo of your speaking to me. Amen.

The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of discipleship, to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
