Morning prayer · 3 March

Depths of your compassion

A tiny figure in free fall, arms open and trusting, dropping toward a huge pair of open cupped hands waiting below to catch them, with the words “fall into the hands of the lord” lettered by hand.

Lord God, kind and merciful, please give us a humble trust in your mercy, and don’t let our hearts give up. Even if our sins are seven, even if they’re seventy times seven, even if they’re more than the hairs on our head, help us, with sorry and loving hearts, to throw ourselves down into the depths of your compassion. Let us fall into the hands of the Lord. Amen.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12 (BSB)
