Morning prayer · 17 May

The fire you’ve lit

A single candle flame burning steady inside a glass jar while wind is drawn as swirling lines around the outside, unable to reach the flame.

God, by the light of your word you scatter the darkness of not knowing. Make the power of the faith you’ve given us grow stronger in our hearts, so that no temptation can put out the fire your grace has lit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The unfolding of Your words gives light; it informs the simple.

Psalm 119:130 (BSB)
