Hungry for what’s right

A small bird mid-flight straining upward toward a brighter patch of sky, one wing catching light while its shadow self trails heavy and dark beneath it on the ground.

God, I’m hungry now to be right with you. My spirit hopes in you to set me free from the lower self that my better self hates. Jesus, great older brother of my new birth, dearer than every name in heaven or on earth but one, teach me, all day long, to love forever. Amen.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Matthew 5:6 (BSB)
