Heart fixed on you

A small magnet on a table pulling a scatter of loose iron filings into one steady line, showing a heart being drawn into fixed alignment, with the words “heart fixed on you” lettered by hand.

Lord God, you hold people’s wills and hearts in your hand. Light holy desires in my mind, and push down sinful and corrupt imaginings. Help me love your commands and long for your promises. Protect and guide me, so that I pass through the things that don’t last without losing, in the end, the things that last forever. Among all the hopes and fears, the pleasures and sorrows, the dangers and rescues, and all the changes of this life, let my heart, by the help of your Holy Spirit, be firmly set on enjoying your presence forever, where real joy is found. Merciful Lord, forgive whatever I’ve done against your ways. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.

Psalm 86:11 (BSB)
