Morning prayer · 28 May
Heaven on earth

Lord, lift us above the world. Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, and carry us on your wings, far from these smaller sorrows and smaller joys, up to where the endless ages roll. Let us rise there in joyful wonder, and then let our spirits come back strong for all their work, armed for every battle, and ready to live heaven on earth, until one day we live heaven in heaven. Great Father, be with your waiting people. If anyone is in great trouble, help them greatly. If anyone is discouraged, gently comfort them. If anyone has gone wrong and is hurting from their own sin, bring them back and heal their wounds. If anyone today longs to be holy, give them their heart’s desire. If anyone longs to be useful, lead them into ways of being useful. Amen.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
