Morning prayer · 9 May

From yesterday to today

A fresh cup of tea steaming on a windowsill in early morning light, untouched and full, ready to be picked up and carried into the day.

Thank you, God, for bringing me from yesterday to the beginning of today, to work with a good heart for everlasting joy for my soul. And for every gift of peace you give me, I give you my thoughts, my words, my actions and my desires. Please, I ask you, keep me from doing wrong, and protect me tonight, for the sake of your wounds and the gift of your grace. Amen.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17 (BSB)
