Steer our life

A weathervane shaped like a small boat swings loosely in the wind atop a rooftop, while a gentle unseen hand reaches down to hold it steady pointing one true direction, with the words “steer the boat of our life” lettered by hand.

Lord our God, please teach us to ask you in the right way for the right blessings. Steer the boat of our life to you, the calm haven for every storm-tossed soul. Show us the way we should go. Give us a willing spirit again. Let your Spirit hold back our wandering desires, and guide us and help us to what is truly good for us: to keep your ways, and in everything we do, always to be glad in your bright and joyful presence. All glory and praise are yours, from all your people, now and always. Amen.

They rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the harbor they desired.
