Count the bright things

A simple tally of bright things being kept: a windowsill lined with small jars, each holding one tiny glowing thing (a sunbeam, a flower, a flame), as if someone is collecting and counting the brightness of the day.

God our Father, we want to thank you for all the bright things in life. Help us to see them, to count them and to remember them, so that our lives flow with praise that never stops. We ask this for the sake of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, and the plans You have for us—none can compare to You—if I proclaim and declare them, they are more than I can count.

Psalm 40:5 (BSB)
