Morning prayer · 4 September
My very own God

God, take away everything that might stop us from delighting in you. Let us come to you today with the highest joy, and speak of you as “God, my overflowing joy; yes, my very own God.” God, help us feel that you’re truly ours. Let us come near to you with no doubts, and with nothing at all to spoil the beautiful simplicity of a childlike faith that looks up into the great face of God and says, “Our Father in heaven.” Amen.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God.
