Morning prayer · 22 April
A quiet, humble mind

God, please save us today from empty distractions and the false pull of wanting too much. Give us a quiet, humble mind, and help us learn from Jesus to be gentle and humble in heart. Don’t let us join the crowd of people chasing things that never satisfy, who pull others along with them in the fever of greed. Keep us from adding our influence to the drag of temptation. If the fierce tide of greed beats against the walls of our soul, help us rest at peace in your deeper contentment. In the rush of life, may we move from one task to the next with calm hearts, and spread your quiet to everyone who comes near. Amen.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
