Morning prayer · 18 August
Like a river through us

Father, make us feel again that you’re kindly here with us, and let that always move us to peace, trust and courage on our journey. Let us hold on to you with loving, adoring hearts, and set our love on you, so that unbroken closeness with you goes with us in all we do, in life and in death. Teach us to pray from the heart, to listen for your voice inside us, and never to silence its warnings. We give you our poor hearts. Come and fill your home in us, and let nothing impure get in. You are Love. Let your Spirit flow like a river through our whole souls, and lead us the right way until a peaceful death brings us into the Promised Land. Amen.
Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”
