The praise of thankful love

A small cup sits on a plain table, filled so full that it overflows in a quiet, steady trickle down its side, pooling into a saucer shaped like a heart, showing a life so full of grace that thankfulness spills out on its own.

My God, thank you for making me, for rescuing me, and for keeping me in your grace until now. If I’ve done any good, or been kept from any wrong, it’s because of your mercy, my God. Praise to you for every good thought you’ve put into my heart, and for the grace to act on it, and for every blessing, outside me and within. With my whole soul and all its strength, and beyond its strength, I want to praise you. Lord, help me yourself to praise you with the quiet praise of thankful love. Amen.

I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
