Morning prayer · 7 August

Darkness and light alike

A single small moon-and-sun shape sharing one circle, half softly shaded dark and half left plain, resting together in the same sky with no line dividing them.

Almighty God, give us your peace, which is beyond understanding. Then, in the storms and troubles of this life, we can rest in you, knowing that everything is in you, under your care, ruled by your will, guarded by your love. So with a quiet heart we can look at the storms of life, the cloud and the deep darkness, always glad to know that darkness and light are the same to you. Guide us, guard us and rule us right to the end, so that none of us fails to take hold of the life that never ends. Amen.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
