A single small lamp sitting on a windowsill at night, its glow pushing back the dark outside the glass.

Lord, please light up our hearts with your holy brightness, so that we can serve you without fear, in holiness and goodness, all the days of our life. Then may we escape the darkness of this world, and by your guidance reach the land of everlasting brightness. We ask this in your mercy, blessed Lord, who lives and rules over all things forever. Amen.
