Morning prayer · 15 February

Up with our hearts

Two hands lifted up and open from below, cupped toward a sky full of tiny birds all flying upward together, as if the heart is being released upward with the whole sky singing, with the words “up with our hearts” lettered by hand.

Up with our hearts! We lift them to the Lord. How right and fitting it is, in everything and for everything, at every time and in every place, everywhere and always, to remember you, worship you, confess to you, praise you, bless you, sing to you and thank you. You make everything, feed it, guard it, rule it, keep it and bring it to completion. Lord and Father, King and God, spring of life that never dies, treasure of every good that lasts forever. The heavens sing to you, and the angels call to each other without end, while we, weak and unworthy, stand beneath them: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of heaven’s armies; the whole of heaven and earth is full of the majesty of your glory. Amen.

And they were calling out to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory.”
