Morning prayer · 22 February

You hate nothing you made

An old clay pot with a crack mended by sunlight pouring through the crack instead of breaking it further, showing something flawed made whole.

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you’ve made, and you forgive everyone who’s truly sorry. Make new hearts in us, sorry hearts, so that, grieving our sins as we should and owning how lost we are, we may receive from you, the God of all mercy, full and complete forgiveness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Psalm 51:17 (BSB)
