Like a still lake

A still lake at dawn with one small light reflected perfectly on its glassy surface, nothing else disturbing the water.

God, help us rest from everything wrong we do and think. Help us give ourselves completely to you, and keep our souls still before you like a still lake, so the light of your kindness is reflected there and lights a glow of faith and love and prayer in our hearts. Through stillness and hope like this, may we find strength and gladness in you, now and forever. Amen.

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.”

Psalm 46:10 (BSB)
