You know what’s best

A weathervane shaped like an arrow sits loose on its pin atop a small roof, free to turn any direction the wind chooses, content either way, with the words “turn me whichever way you choose” lettered by hand.

Lord, you know what’s best. Let this or that happen, as you want. Give what you want, as much as you want, when you want. Do with me what you know is best, what pleases you most, and what brings you the most glory. Put me where you want, and freely do your will with me in everything. I’m in your hand; turn me whichever way you choose. Here I am, your servant, ready for anything, because I want to live not for myself but for you. Oh, if only I could live well and fully for you! Amen.

But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.
