Morning prayer · 19 March

Every heart is empty

An empty clay jug sitting on a shelf with a single small bird perched on its rim, head tilted inside looking for what will fill it.

Lord, you see that every heart is empty unless you fill it, and every desire ends in frustration unless it longs for you. Give us light and grace to look for you and find you, so that we can be yours, and you can be ours, forever. Amen.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7 (BSB)
