Before we ask

A small fountain overflowing a stone basin, filling an empty cup placed beneath it that's too small to hold it all, water spilling generously past the cup's rim.

Almighty God, fountain of all wisdom, you know what we need before we ask, and you know how little we understand when we ask. Please have pity on our weakness. And the things we don’t dare ask for, because we don’t deserve them, and can’t ask for, because we can’t see, please give us anyway, because your Son Jesus Christ is worthy. Amen.

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
